by Congratulations to Dr. Ed Breitschwerdt for the highest possible recognition of his achievements by NC State University! The Holladay Medal for Excellence is the highest honor awarded to faculty by the trustees and the university.
Dr. B, as his staff and students call him, works harder than anyone we have ever known. A quick search on pubmed.org shows how prolific a scholar he is and that research represents only half of how he spends his time. The other half of his time he spends caring for animal patients at the NCSU-CVM vet hospital and teaching/mentoring veterinary students. After those full-time commitments, Dr. B tends to Galaxy business. We are so lucky to have him!
