Find it. Treat it. Prevent it.
We offer a growing menu of molecular and serology test options for a range of zoonotic and vector-borne pathogens, specializing in Bartonella, Borrelia, and Babesia. Please see our test options for details. All testing is self-pay and payment information is required with the samples. We will provide a superbill for patients upon request.
*If samples arrive without payment information, we can only guarantee testing five business days after arrival.*
Step 1 – Register Account.
*for new providers placing their first order.
Creating an account automatically registers your clinic in our system and generates a unique login for the Provider Results Portal. A licensed healthcare provider must be designated as the Ordering Provider for the account (e.g. in the United States they must have an active NPI number). To complete set-up, we require a clinic shipping address, a primary contact, and an email + fax for sending log-in credentials to our portal.
*International Providers cannot order kits, but must still register their account with us.
Step 2 – Order a Specimen Kit.
Licensed healthcare providers in the United States (except New York) can order a specimen-collection kit using our online kit request form. Once we receive the kit request form, the kit will be shipped within 3-5 business days. Specimen-collection kits include detailed instructions on sample collection and shipping, blood tubes, and all required test forms and shipping materials.
*Please contact us for special instructions for international orders and non-permitted test exemptions for New York.
Step 3 – Collect the Sample.
All samples must be collected aseptically. Please review our specimen collection instructions for additional details. Laboratory regulations require that specimen tubes be labeled properly with at least two identifiers. If your provider does not have an in-house phlebotomist, you will need to take the kit elsewhere to get the blood drawn. Please see our blood draw services page for suggested locations.
Step 4 – Complete all the required forms.
The specimen kit includes the following forms required to request testing. Federal regulations require that the sample(s) be sent with a completed test request form that includes patient details (name, DOB, gender) and sample information (draw date).
Step 5 – Pack and Ship the Specimen.
Specimen collection kits include the necessary packing and shipping materials. Pack the specimen along with the required forms following the shipping instructions. Ship overnight with a frozen cold pack to our physical street address in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Specimens must be protected from high heat to ensure sample viability.
Shipping regulations require that clinical samples be triple packed and properly labeled (e.g., UN 2733 Category B Biological Samples).
- FedEx does not allow for drop off of Category B biological samples at their locations, so you MUST CALL FOR PICKUP. Please see FedEx or UPS for detailed requirements.
- Please DO NOT SHIP USPS as the US Postal Service does not deliver packages to our location.
- DO NOT USE COURIER DROP BOXES.
Step 6 – Receive results.
The turnaround time for our testing is 2-3 weeks depending on which test(s) are ordered. Results will be sent to providers via our online Provider Results Portal as soon as they are available. Through the portal, the provider can set-up automatic faxing, turn on email-notifications, and more. Alternatively they can be sent through the U.S mail or faxed.
Patients can complete a results request form in order to receive a copy of the results directly. Results cannot be e-mailed at this time due to HIPAA privacy/security regulations.
