Where Can I Find Financial Assistance?
Reliable testing and treatment for tick-borne diseases can be costly because services are often out-of-pocket and may not be covered by insurance companies. Galaxy is happy to file insurance claims on behalf of patients after payment is received, but reimbursement may not cover the full cost of our testing. The organizations listed below offer grants that help alleviate the financial burden placed on patients and their families. Galaxy Diagnostics is not affiliated with these companies so we encourage you to reach out to them directly with questions.
LymeLight Foundation
LymeLight offers grants for patients that are from the United States and under the age of 25. Since their start in 2011, they have awarded $5 million in grants to 770 individuals located in 49 states.
LivLyme Foundation
The LivLyme Foundation offers grants for patients under the age of 21. Since 2017, they have awarded 31 grants.
Lyme Disease Association: LymeAid 4 Kids
LymeAid 4 Kids is a fund that is managed by the Lyme Disease Association. Since 2004, they have provided $369,000 in grants to uninsured individuals under the age of 21.
Lyme Connection
Lyme Connection offers financial assistance to Connecticut residents who fall at or below 85% of the State Median Income level or already participate in state/federal assistance programs.
Lyme Test Access Program (Lyme-TAP)
Lyme-TAP is a nationwide patient assistance program that helps patients cover costs related to testing and treatment of tick-borne diseases. Grants can be awarded to patients of any age, but priority is given to children under the age of 18.
